Educo Philippines, through its Humanitarian Action, aims to protect, help, and assist the most vulnerable people, especially children, in their right to life and security, with dignity and comprehensive coverage of the rights and needs in the face of risk situations and of humanitarian crises.
The quality of our Humanitarian Action revolves around Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE Standards, CPMS, INEE, while our thematic priorities strongly lean on Education in Emergencies, Child Protection in Emergencies, Children’s Participation and Accountability in Emergencies.
Our previous projects and efforts can be tracked down last 2024 with our Bicol Trami Response Project (support for typhoon victims of Typhoons Kristin and Pepito, including affected communities); Mayon Response Project (with funding from KOICA); Project SAFE II (with funding from ChildFund Korea); Project CERF-AA (with funding from UNFAO).

Resilient Education in Emergencies for Children’s Empowerment and Vital Education
In the recent years, Educo has embraced a holistic approach, recognizing children as active agents of change in fostering resilient communities, particularly in disaster-prone areas like Bicol. By integrating child participation into Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Education in Emergencies (EiE), children can contribute to disaster preparedness while ensuring their learning continuity and well-being. Advocacy efforts highlight their unique vulnerabilities, such as physical risks, psychological trauma, and education disruption, shifting perceptions of children from passive victims to key stakeholders. The education sector plays a vital role in this, equipping children with knowledge and skills through DRR-integrated curricula. At the same time, trained teachers support their emotional resilience through strategies like social-emotional learning (SEL) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).
