Bata. Boses. Bukas.: Standing with Children as they recover, rebuild, and rise stronger.
Educo Philippines Marks 20 Years With a Commitment to Solidarity and Child-Centered Response
This November, as communities across the Bicol Region grapple with the impacts of Super Typhoon Uwan, Educo Philippines reframes its 20th year campaign, “Bata. Boses. Bukas.”, into a movement of empathy, solidarity, and support.
While we continue to observe National Children’s Month, the National Play Advocacy Week, and Project UPFRONT’s knowledge-sharing efforts, our focus shifts from celebration to standing with children and families as they recover, rebuild, and regain their sense of safety.
Across all these, Educo reaffirms a powerful belief: children are not merely participants in our programs, they are partners whose voices, stories, and hopes guide how we respond in moments of crisis.

BATA: Stories and Realities in a Time of Recovery
For 20 years, Educo Philippines has walked alongside children, families, and communities to uphold their rights to safety, learning, play, and participation. Today, in the aftermath of Typhoon Uwan, those rights are more urgent than ever.
Children face disrupted routines, loss of materials, damaged learning spaces, and emotional distress. Educo continues to respond by prioritizing child protection, education continuity, and psychosocial support, ensuring that children have safe spaces to express, recover, and process their experiences.
As part of National Children’s Month, Educo also strengthens awareness on preventing Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), advocating for safer clicks, safer spaces, and stronger voices for all children, both online and offline.

BOSES: Voices that Shape Change
Even in emergencies, children’s voices remain central.
From child-led research and leadership initiatives to consultations and community dialogues, Educo has consistently upheld meaningful participation as a form of protection and empowerment. This continues in our humanitarian response, where we listen closely to children’s fears, hopes, and needs as they navigate the aftermath of the storm.
Through Project UPFRONT, we share insights and evidence from years of child participation work. These learnings are integrated into IEC materials distributed to affected areas, ensuring that children’s voices guide not only long-term programming but also emergency response.
Their voices remind us: recovery begins with listening.

BUKAS: Building Futures, Expanding Horizons
Educo Philippines’ 20th year marks not only a moment of reflection but a renewed commitment to the future.
Guided by the upcoming 2026–2030 Country Programmatic Framework, Educo Philippines deepens its work across education, child protection, child participation, and disaster preparedness. Our soon-to-expand presence in Mindanao underscores our commitment to reach more underserved and vulnerable children, especially in conflict-affected areas.
Today, we extend this commitment to the children of Bicol, standing with them as they rebuild, recover, and reclaim their sense of normalcy.
Bata. Boses. Bukas. is no longer just a celebration of our history. It is a vision for a more inclusive tomorrow—one that we recommit to, especially in times of crisis.

For 20 years, Educo Philippines has seen how change happens when children’s voices are heard, when communities come together, and when partners uphold child rights even in the hardest moments. As we face this chapter, we call on everyone to join us in shaping the next 20 years, not with celebration, but with compassion, action, and solidarity.
