Educo Philippines Strengthens Partnership with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes

Catanduanes, Philippines — Educo Philippines paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Government of Catanduanes to reaffirm its commitment to promoting child rights, access to quality education, community empowerment, and disaster resilience across the province.

During the visit, Educo Philippines, headed by its Country Director Marlon Villanueva, shared updates on its ongoing programs and advocacies that aim to improve the welfare and development of Catandunganon children and their communities. These initiatives form part of the organization’s broader efforts to ensure that every child in the Philippines learns, is safe, and is heard.

One of the highlights of the visit was the introduction of Educo Philippines’ upcoming Solar Lamp Distribution Project in JMA Tucao, San Miguel. The project aims to provide sustainable and renewable lighting solutions to off-grid households and learners in remote areas of the province. Through this initiative, Educo Philippines hopes to help children continue their studies safely, even during power interruptions or natural disasters.

Catanduanes Governor Patrick Alain T. Azanza warmly welcomed the Educo Philippines team and expressed his deep appreciation for the organization’s long-standing partnership and contributions to the province.

“We are grateful to Educo Philippines for being a steadfast partner of the Provincial Government of Catanduanes,” Governor Azanza said. “Your initiatives in advancing education, promoting child protection, and fostering sustainable progress have truly made a difference in the lives of Catandunganon children and their families.”

Educo Philippines has been working in Catanduanes since 2018, implementing various projects focused on child protection, education, and participation, with a recent venture in child-centered disaster risk reduction and management. Its partnership with both the Department of Education (DepEd) Catanduanes and the Provincial Government continues to create opportunities for local collaboration that put children at the center of development.

The visit underscores Educo’s continuing mission to empower communities and ensure that children grow up in safe, nurturing, and rights-respecting environments. As Educo Philippines prepares to implement its 2026–2030 Country Program Strategy, the organization aims to expand its reach and deepen its impact in Bicol and, soon, in other regions of the country.

Educo Philippines reaffirms its partnership with the Provincial Government of Catanduanes through initiatives on child rights, quality education, and disaster resilience, including a new Solar Lamp Distribution Project.
